Cover your funeral so your family doesn't have to.
Final expense insurance is a small, no-exam whole life policy — usually $5,000 to $25,000 — that pays your family a tax-free benefit to cover funeral, burial or cremation costs. There's no medical exam, the rate is locked in for life, and most Dayton seniors are approved with just a few health questions. If your health is a concern, guaranteed-acceptance coverage with no health questions is still available.

Simplified issue vs. guaranteed issue.
These are two distinct products. I'll always try to get you the better one (simplified issue) first — but it's important you understand both, especially the waiting period on guaranteed issue.
Simplified issue — try this first
Full coverage from day one
- ✓ A few health questions, no exam
- ✓ Lower premium for the same benefit
- ✓ Full death benefit available immediately
- ✓ Best for most reasonably healthy applicants
Guaranteed issue — the safety net
No health questions, can't be declined
- ✓ No health questions at all — guaranteed approval
- ⚠️ 2-year waiting period: death from natural causes in the first 2 years refunds premiums + interest, not the full benefit
- ✓ Accidental death is covered from day one
- ✓ For those with serious health issues or prior declines

Final expense questions, answered.
How much does a funeral cost in Ohio?+
A traditional burial with a viewing in Ohio runs roughly $8,000–$9,000, and a cremation with a service is commonly around $6,000 — before cemetery, headstone or unexpected costs. Final expense insurance is designed to cover exactly these bills so your family isn't paying out of pocket while grieving.
What is final expense insurance?+
It's a small whole life policy — usually $5,000 to $25,000 — built to cover funeral, burial or cremation costs and any small debts you leave behind. It never expires as long as premiums are paid, builds a little cash value, and the benefit pays your family tax-free.
Do I need a medical exam for burial insurance?+
No. Final expense is no-exam by design. Most policies use simplified issue — a few yes/no health questions — and approval is often the same day. If your health rules out simplified issue, guaranteed-issue coverage with no health questions at all is still available.
What's the difference between simplified issue and guaranteed issue?+
Simplified issue asks a few health questions; if you pass, your full benefit is available from day one and the rate is lower. Guaranteed issue asks NO health questions and can't be declined, but it carries a 2-year waiting period — if you pass away from natural causes in the first two years, the policy refunds your premiums plus interest rather than the full benefit (accidental death is covered immediately). I'll always try to qualify you for simplified issue first because it's better coverage at a better price.
Can I be turned down for final expense insurance?+
You might be declined for a simplified-issue policy if you have serious recent health issues — but you can't be turned down for a guaranteed-issue policy. Being declined once does not mean you can't get covered. There's almost always an option.
Will my rate or coverage ever change?+
No. With whole life final expense, your premium is locked in for life and your coverage amount never decreases. As long as you pay the premium, the policy stays in force and the benefit is guaranteed.
