Term life cost by age.
Term life is cheapest the younger you lock it in. Here's a realistic starting point for a healthy non-smoker — rates rise each year you wait, so today is almost always cheaper than next year.

How much coverage does your family need?
A simple way to size it: replace your income, then add what you owe.
Replace your income
10–20× your annual income so your family keeps their standard of living.
Pay off the mortgage
Add your remaining home loan so they can stay in the house, free and clear.
Clear other debts
Car loans, credit cards, co-signed student loans — gone, not inherited.
Fund the future
College, childcare, or a cushion so they're not forced to rush back to work.

What Dayton families should know
- 📍Ohio's 30-day free look lets you review a new policy risk-free before it's final (Ohio Dept. of Insurance).
- 📍Just had a baby, bought a home in Centerville or Beavercreek, or started a business? Those are the moments to lock a low term rate.
- 📍Stay-at-home parent? Their work has real replacement cost (childcare, household management) — they should be covered too.
- 📍Rates are based on your age today — every year you wait, the same coverage costs more.

Term life questions, answered.
Can I really get term life with no medical exam?+
For most of my Dayton clients, yes. Many term policies are approved with a few health questions and a quick database check — no needles, no paramedic visit — often with a decision in minutes. Larger amounts or certain health histories may need a short exam, and I'll tell you up front.
How fast can I actually be covered?+
No-exam approvals often come back the same day, sometimes within about 10 minutes of applying. Once approved and the first payment is made, coverage can be in force immediately. Cases that need underwriting typically take a few days to a couple of weeks.
How much term life insurance do I need?+
A common rule of thumb is 10–20× your income, plus your mortgage and any debt, minus savings. For a young Dayton family that's often $250K–$1M. I'll help you land on the right number based on your income, debts and goals — no pressure.
What's the difference between term and whole life?+
Term covers you for a set period (10, 20 or 30 years) at the lowest cost — ideal while you have a mortgage and kids at home. Whole life lasts your entire life and builds cash value, but costs more. Many families use term for the big, temporary needs and a smaller permanent policy for the lifelong ones.
What happens when my term ends?+
You have options: let it expire if you no longer need it, renew it (at a higher rate), or convert it to a permanent policy without a new exam — if your policy includes a conversion option. I steer clients toward carriers with strong conversion features so you keep flexibility.
Is no-exam term more expensive?+
Not necessarily. For healthy applicants, no-exam rates are often competitive with fully-underwritten ones — and because I shop 30+ companies, I can compare both paths and put you with the carrier that prices your profile best.
