Guaranteed Issue · Dayton, OH

No health questions. No exam. No one is declined.

Guaranteed issue life insurance is whole life coverage with no medical exam and no health questions — you cannot be turned down for your health. It's built for people who've been declined before or have serious health conditions. Note the trade-off: a 2-year waiting period applies, so full benefits for natural death begin after two years (accidental death is covered immediately). I'll always try to qualify you for better coverage first.

If you've been turned down

One decline doesn't mean you're uninsurable.

Most declines are carrier-specific — a condition one company won't touch, another rates as standard. Here's the order I work through for you.

1

Re-shop simplified issue

First I find a carrier friendlier to your specific condition. Many 'declines' get approved elsewhere with full day-one coverage.

2

Check graded / modified plans

If full simplified issue isn't available, a graded-benefit policy may still beat guaranteed issue on price and terms.

3

Guaranteed issue safety net

If health questions would decline you, guaranteed acceptance ensures you still get covered — no questions asked.

Be informed

Understand the 2-year waiting period.

This is the single most important thing to know before buying guaranteed issue. I explain it plainly so there are no surprises for your family.

Years 1–2 — natural death

If you pass away from natural causes (illness) in the first two years, the policy refunds all premiums paid plus interest (often ~10%) — not the full benefit. This is the trade-off for zero health questions.

Day one & after year 2

Accidental death is covered in full from day one. And after the 2-year mark, the full death benefit is paid for any cause — for life, at a rate that never increases.

What it costs

Guaranteed issue cost by age.

Rates are higher than simplified issue (no health screening), but locked in for life. Here's a realistic starting point.

Quick answers

Guaranteed issue questions, answered.

What is guaranteed issue life insurance?

Guaranteed issue (also called guaranteed acceptance) is a whole life policy with no medical exam and no health questions — you cannot be turned down for health reasons. It's built for people who've been declined elsewhere or have serious health conditions. Coverage amounts are smaller (typically $5,000–$25,000) and it's designed mainly to cover final expenses.

How does the 2-year waiting period work?

Because the insurer asks no health questions, guaranteed issue policies include a graded death benefit, or 2-year waiting period. If you pass away from natural causes within the first two years, the policy refunds all the premiums you paid plus interest (often around 10%) rather than the full benefit. After two years — and from day one for accidental death — the full death benefit is paid. It's the trade-off for guaranteed approval.

I've been declined before — can I still get covered?

Almost certainly yes. Being declined for one policy does not mean you're uninsurable. First, I'll try to qualify you for a simplified-issue policy (better coverage, no waiting period) with a carrier that's friendlier to your condition — many declines are carrier-specific. If that's not possible, guaranteed issue ensures you can still get covered. There's almost always an option.

Should I choose guaranteed issue or simplified issue?

Always try simplified issue first if your health allows it — it has no waiting period, full day-one coverage, and a lower premium. Guaranteed issue is the right choice only when health questions would get you declined. My job is to find out which one you qualify for, and I'll always steer you to the better option.

How much guaranteed issue coverage can I get?

Most guaranteed-issue policies offer $5,000 to $25,000 — enough to cover a funeral, burial or cremation and small final bills. The exact maximum depends on the carrier and your age. We'll size it to your funeral and final-expense needs.

Will my premium ever go up?

No. Guaranteed issue is whole life — your premium is locked in for life and never increases, your coverage never decreases, and the policy never expires as long as premiums are paid.
